Recap: Windrider Summer Film Series

Friends,

What a great 6 weeks for the “Windrider Summer Series!” Thanks to the six generous filmmakers for allowing us to screen their award winning work. Thanks also to Craig Detweiler and John Marks for their great reviews and for all of you in the blogesphere who weighed in on the “conversation.” All in all, over 8,000 people screened the free on line films!

All of the films will be up on the site for a bit longer, so make sure and screen the ones you have missed. Stay tuned for our next series this fall, it will be our countdown to Angelus….and, it is going to be “Windy.”

A Sheep of the Roof
“This amazing six-minute animation by Remy Schaepman will not only amaze you with its artistic excellence, but will stimulate your thinking in a deep and meaningful way.” - John Priddy

American Made
“Rarely does a film garner unanimous consensus among our jury – “American Made” was one gem that did.” — Monika Moreno, director, Angelus Student Film Festival

Unhitched
“In the right light, ordinary things shine so beautifully. Aim the camera lens at a trailer park, for instance, and you’d be amazed at what emerges.” - John Marks

Replacement Child
“How to pack complexity into a tight narrative structure? How about following the thorny and wondrous example set by Justin Lerner’s acclaimed film, The Replacement Child.” - Craig Detweiler

Sebastians Voodoo
“Angelus Festival animation jurors unanimously selected “Sebastian’s Voodoo” as Outstanding Animation — citing its riveting storytelling and superior production values.” - Monika Moreno-Director of the Angelus Student Film Festival

Roz and Joshua.
“It’s hard to imagine another medium that would deliver Roz so up close and personal without turning her into tooth-killing treacle.” - John Marks
