Windrider Forum @ Park City during The Sundance Film Festival 2008
This working partnership with graduate students from Fuller, The Mountain Vineyard Community, Angelus Student Film Festival and Biola University, gathered once again for our fourth annual event. This year we added another undergraduate film program from Taylor University in Indiana.
In addition, the event energized a tremendous volunteer base, who are the people that make it “happen”! The Mountain Vineyard Community of Park City Utah graciously hosts the Forum in their state-of-the-art facility at no cost to participants. This group also hosts the opening night event. Members of the Mountain Vineyard serve as Forum staff providing everything from audio visual and administrative support to janitorial duties. Furthermore Mountain Vineyard provides host homes, meals and transportation for the students at no cost.
Windrider Forum’s opening night event, “An Evening of Angelus”, gave participants an opportunity to view winning films from the Angelus Student Film Festival, followed by Q&A with up-and-coming filmmakers. During the “Thank you Vineyard” evening, over 300 people viewed Hilla Medalia’s award winning film, To Die In Jerusalem. The Q&A was podcast live with Dick Staub and the Kindlings Muse program.
The thought provoking event was highlighted as this years Spirit of Windrider Award Recipient, Heather Rae, was not only on hand to accept her honor, but then went on to receive the coveted Sundance Grand jury Prize for as the producer of Frozen River.
